Former English football star Gary Neville faced another roadblock tot he construction of his eco home. This time British Communities Secretary Erick Pickles issued a notice that would delay permit approval so that he can further consider the plans for the 6 million pound, five bedroom underground house with a 30m wind turbine power source. Neighbors in Bolton are opposed to the building and had been petitioning for the delay.
The former Manchester United star's dream home has been dubbed the 'Teletubby' house by locals because its unusual design resembles Tinky Winky's home in the popular British cartoon. Planners had backed the proposal for the carbon neutral house last month, but they still need a green light from the government before construction can begin. Controversy is not new for Neville, who reveled in his reputation as one of the most hated men in football.
